Adrian Byron Burns

Unlike many contemporary bluesmen, Adrian Byron Burns doesn't pretend that 60-some-odd years of musical development hasn't occurred since Robert Johnson went to San Antonio. Jazz, funk, fusion, soul, R&B, and even straight-ahead rock 'n' roll influences are apparent in his hard driving urban blues. His guitar work is clean and percussive, marked by rapid-fire single-note picking, rhythmic string damping, and artificial harmonics. While he includes a number of worthwhile originals, his fresh, contemporary twist on a number of blues classics, including "Crossroads" and "Sitting on Top of the World," make this debut album stand out. (Bluetrack) --David Gold

A dedicated believer in Acoustic Music and the power of one voice to still have relevance, Adrian often plays in places where he is the sole solo performer the establishment has featured. He wants to see an upsurge in acoustic music and hopes that the American trend for House Concerts takes off on this side of the Atlantic as well!!

Mark Flanagan

Born and raised in Liverpool, Mark started on ukulele aged 8 and got his first guitar at 12. He joined his first band aged 15, played a lot of country music and at 22 he founded swinging vocal harmony group called The Box Brothers. Mark first guested with Jools Holland at the Edingburgh Festival in 1988. Since 1989 he played over 1000 gigs with Jools Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, also recording many live TV shows. He has accompanied, to name but a few, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Sam Brown, Lou Rawls, Ray Davies, Dr John, Mica Paris, Charlene Anderson, Robert Palmer, Barry White, Van Morrison, George Benson, B.B. King, Chaka Khan and Paul Weller. Mark is currently working on his own thing, original songs mostly rooted in the blues. Mark will be doing a solo tour of the UK between the 14th March and the 7th April 2002.  Mark is available for solo gigs - an eclectic mix of acoustic country blues with influences ranging from New Orleans to  Senegal, or duo bookings with Gary Foote (Tenor Sax/Flute/Drums).  For more information about Mark's new album with his band Flanagan click here.

Paul Judge

“Paul provided the enthusiastic audience with an excellent evening of laid back blues. Paul is an accomplished guitarist switching from steel slide guitar to electric throughout the evening. We were treated to a versatile mixture of traditional and self penned numbers. Taking advantage of the attentive audience Paul was able to play some quite beautiful pieces with some very delicate phrasing, one particular instrumental on the electric guitar inspired a very well deserved ovation. Afterwards Paul confided in me he had made it up on the spot! A sure sign he was responding to a great audience that made him feel appreciated.” Dave Pugh, Crawley Blues Club

(Bottleneck Blues Club) Most readers should be familiar with at least one track from Paul Judge, the haunting slide instrumental ‘When You Need Somebody’ which ends the Blueprint ’98 CD. Paul Jones chose the number to advertise the gig on Jazz FM, which should have been enough to drag you down to Kent. Paul is a deft National player; not from the ‘scrub it and see’ school, his picking and slide work are equally accurate and complimented by good vocals. The Saturday crowd here tend to be a little verbose, but they gave Paul some rightly earned respect and he reciprocated with a thoughtful set. Arnold Qumphlutter, Blueprint magazine

Mike Sanchez

Mike SanchezMike Sanchez Guisborugh R'n'B Club, 8th July.  - We were all treated to a virtuoso performance at the Guisborough R'n'B Club by one of the most respected artists in the country. Mike Sanchez, keyboard player, guitarist and singer, a showman of unbridled talent. We were very lucky to have him play in our little town and had no doubt of the impact he would have on the audience. The first set had the audience transfixed, unable to move, just watching the man perform was enough. The second set had them jumping and jiving, how one man on stage can have that effect on so many people is beyond me. Mike is on the threshold of forming a band, God knows what the response will be when he does, but one thing is for sure is, you will se them at Guisborough R'n'B Club: Can't wait - Ralph of Guis.

MIKE SANCHEZ UK singer, guitarist and pianist is one of the most exciting and charismatic performers of Rhythm & Blues and Rock ’n’ Roll in the world.  As well as touring with his four or seven piece band (plus guests) Mike is available for solo gigs.  For more information please click here to view his biography, listen to his music and see him in action on video.
