MUD MORGANFIELD (MUDDY WATERS JR)
“More than a pastiche ... a genuine artist who happens to sound like his daddy" Blues and Rhythm

Mud Morganfield

The Movinmusic Agency is pleased to announce that it is now working on a very short run of UK dates for Mud Morganfield (Muddy Waters Jr) in the UK between the 14th - 25th July 2010. Interested Festivals, promoters, programmers and venues can contact us on 0044 (0)1209 860067 or at: mike@movinmusic.co.uk.

Over Last two years, Mud Morganfield eldest son of the undisputed king of the Blues Muddy Waters has been delivering his charismatic Chicago blues of the highest order to audiences around the world. Stunned audiences from Russia, Sweden, Australia, Denmark, Brazil, Argentina, Denmark Spain, Mexico and the UK have experienced the Mud effect. He looks and sounds strikingly like his old man, so much so the one of his dad's former sidemen said "It's like watching a ghost in the flesh!" Mud, however also has his own very individual mojo working and will be coming to the UK to tour with the UK's very own The Dirty Aces - with which he has recorded a brand new live album.

This son and proud heir of the King of Chicago blues is blessed with a big and powerful voice that can manage to convey deep emotional resonance on the slow numbers and good old fashioned testosterone laden strut on those classic shuffles. He's also blessed with a natural sense of showmanship that ensures that audiences fall right into the palm of his hand. He mixes up the sets with his dad's classic songs and his own original material. As Mud puts it "I started to sing to show the world that dad left me here. I love and am proud to sing his songs just like I love and and will always be proud of him. I'm not Muddy Waters and I'm certainly not trying to be Muddy Waters. I'm Mud Morganfield but when I'm up on stage I always feel pops is there with me and it means so much that I can get on stage and keep his music alive around the world."

He has shared the stage and gained the respect of many of his Dad's ex sidemen and Chicago blues superstars, Buddy Guy, Kenny Big Eyes Smith, Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater, Pinetop Perkins, Jimmie Johnson, Mojo Buford, to name but a few and at The 2009 Chicago Blues Festival he shared front man duties with his younger brother Big Bill Morganfield in fronting an all star band including the legendary musicans- Pinetop Perkins and Willie Big Eyes Smith to an explosive audience reaction.

He also had the great honour of being picked for the internationally renowned Lucerne Blues Festival 2009.

He will be touring the UK with The Dirty Aces who have been described by Blues Matters magazine as purveying "Superb no-nonsense, gritty R&B.... bringing to mind The Hoax at their brilliant best." They were first spotted by Grammy Award winning blues harmonica legend Sugar Blue telling them "I dig you and what you do!!! Great harp and guitar!!! You cats play like you mean it!! " Mud says of the band, "I was totally blown away by The Dirty Aces, about how they could play my pops and my original stuff so well. It's a very rare thing to be able to do and it was really outstanding. They are great players and also my friends."

They will have with them on sale the live album they Recorded together in Jersey at The Drift Bar in the new multi-million pound Royal Yacht Hotel. Of the nearly 400 strong audience many had returned from the previous shows to catch him one last time before he jetted back to Chicago. That amazing audience reaction and the red hot blues played that night are captured on this new nine track album. The Album has become a favourite in Chicago, played in many of the bars over there. Chicago blues entertainment veteran Charlie Love liked the version of Forty Days and Forty Nights so much he now includes a version of it in his set. Mud is very happy with the disc "I'm so proud of this album - I've been playing it to my friends in Chicago and they've been jumping up and down. I'd like to thank the people of Jersey who made me feel so much at home and to dig deep into my soul and sing the blues. That great Jersey audience is with me there on the album and as you can hear we're all having one hell of a party together!"
