Lightnin' Willie and The Poorboys certainly entertained this sun-drenched blues crowd. They brought their own guts and glory to the stage with style and finesse! Frontman Lightnin' Willie keeps the listener planted in the blues with his own original music while venturing out a bit to showcase his own style of showmanship which is totally free of fear as he walks through a crowd of people he has never met stopping to 'talk' to them with his guitar bringing smiles to there faces as cameras, I phones and anything else captures the moment. Willie doesn't intimidate he welcomes you into his world of blues with incredible charm and an ensemble of men all fixed in the element they all love so much. Moses Sparks on a bass all the while adding perfect vocal harmonies to Willie's well-structured songs along with Jerry Olsen on drums. There is no match for how tight these men are as a team perfectly locked together at the hip which is joined by the piano, organ and accordion of Dennis Gurwell. I saw a bumper sticker that read, PLAY AN ACCORDION GO TO JAIL I don' think anyone would mind being in jail with his accordion playing which is dynamic adding a cajon/zydeco feel to the bands sound.
